The original building was erected in 1101. The present church has been enlarged and altered over the centuries. In 1741 the tall spire on the SW tower collapsed in a storm and the nave is now neo-Gothic. Two huge 14th century brasses, fine misericords, the Tide Clock and flood marks at the West door are all interesting features.
