The Witch's Heart. Tuesday Market Place.

This is an old building re-fronted in the Georgian period. Over the door is a diamond shape surrounding a heart. The story of this heart is that in 1616 a young woman called Mary Smith was burnt as a witch. As she was dying, she proclaimed her innocence and her heart is said to have sprung from her body and landed on the house of the Rev. Roberts, the priest who had declared her a witch.
