Built in 1854 as a covered market for farmers and merchants to buy and sell corn. In 1877 the roof was constructed and glazed in a new principle which dispensed with the use of putty or cement. After the cattle market moved outside town it was used for exhibitions, concerts and sport. In 1996 it was completely refurbished and extended to form a concert hall for over 750 people. |
