On the right is the medieval guildhall built in about 1410. After the dissolution of the guilds in 1548 it had many uses - store for gunpowder, sail loft, courtroom, theatre and scenery painters workshop. However in 1951 it was opened as a centre for the Arts and is the centre of the King's Lynn Festival which takes place in July every year. No 27 is a merchant's house whose fine limestone front was added in 1730.
