A fine house with a statue of Charles I in a niche above the doorway. Rachel, daughter of Elizabeth Fry lived here and her son, Samuel Gurney Cresswell was the first man to travel through the north-west passage. Adjoining Bank House is a grey building, once Gurney's Bank, opened in 1782. |
