Thoresby College - left in Queen Street. Built in 1510 by Thomas Thoresby on a quadrangular plan to house thirteen priests of the Trinity Guild. It was closed in 1548 at the dissolution of the guilds and the East wing became a house. The college was restored in 1963 by the Preservation Trust and now houses the Youth Hostel, flats and an attractive meeting room in the area which used to be the refectory. |
